Installing the PRO Add-on
On this page
Available in LATW AI Translation for Polylang PRO.
PRO is an add-on. It installs alongside the free plugin instead of replacing it, and it contains
no translation engine of its own — the engine, the screens and your translation history all stay in
the free plugin. PRO adds its features inside the screens you already know.
That means you need both plugins active, and it means nothing has to be migrated when you buy PRO or
when you stop using it.
#Install it
- Install and activate the free LATW AI Translation for Polylang first: Plugins → Add New,
search for its name, or download it from
wordpress.org/plugins/latw-ai-translation-for-polylang. - Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and upload the PRO .zip from your account.
- Activate it.
If you upload PRO before the free plugin is in place, WordPress 6.5 and later will not let you
activate it yet. On the Plugins screen PRO is listed as requiring LATW AI Translation for
Polylang, with a link to install it — install and activate the free plugin, then activate PRO.
Older WordPress versions let you activate PRO straight away and show the notice described below.
If the free plugin goes missing or falls behind later — deleted by mistake, or older than PRO needs —
nothing breaks: PRO shows a notice with a button that installs, updates or reactivates the free
plugin from WordPress.org for you.
#Enter your licence key
AI Translation → Settings → License Key, paste the key from your account dashboard, and click
Verify License Key.
Until the key verifies, PRO stays installed but adds nothing — the site behaves exactly as it does
with the free plugin on its own.
#What PRO adds
| Feature | Where it appears |
|---|---|
| Bulk translation | A checkbox column, Translate Selected and the bulk Translate Again appear on the Translations screen |
| Updating only what changed | Settings → Translation → Outdated Translations — see Updating Outdated Translations |
| Automatic translation | A new Settings → Automation tab — see Automatic Translation |
| Anthropic Claude and DeepL | Settings → General → Engine — see Translation Engine – AI Providers |
| More models | Settings → General — the larger OpenAI and Gemini models join the list |
| Glossary | A new Glossary entry in the AI Translation menu |
| Editable prompt | Settings → Translation — the prompt becomes an editable field, with a Reset button |
#What happens when the licence expires
The plugin keeps working, using the free engines and models. It is worth knowing what stops before
your licence ever lapses:
- Claude and DeepL are no longer offered, and a site set to one of them falls back to OpenAI. If
you want translation to carry on uninterrupted, keep an OpenAI key saved. - the PRO models disappear from the model list, and the site falls back to one the free plugin ships
- the glossary screen locks — your entries are not deleted, and come back when the licence does
- the prompt is shown rather than edited again, and translations use the one the free plugin
ships — your own wording is kept and comes back with the licence - outdated translations are re-translated in full rather than only where they changed, so an
update costs what a first translation costs - automatic translation stops; posts that were waiting for it stay waiting, and go out once the
licence is back - bulk translation disappears from the Translations screen, and posts are translated one at a
time from their own rows
Nothing is deleted at any point. Your Claude and DeepL keys, your prompt, your glossary and your
settings all stay exactly where they are, and renewing brings them straight back. Translations
already sent to Claude or DeepL are collected as normal, whatever your licence does in the meantime
— you are never billed for work you cannot receive.
Your cost history stays correct. Prices for the PRO models are kept on purpose, so an expired
licence never turns the recorded cost of past translations into zeroes.
#Removing PRO
Deleting the PRO plugin removes its glossary table, its licence, its Claude and DeepL keys, its
automation and Outdated Translations settings, and its translation markers — and nothing else. Your
translations, your settings, your history and your logs belong to the free plugin and are left
exactly as they are. The site carries on translating in free mode.
